Windmill a la LED in honour of "Eclipse" - Part 2
Windmill a la LED in honour of "Eclipse" - Part 1
It all started on a nice summer evening when I walked out on to my balcony to have a nice relaxing cigarette. In anticipation of this summer's Eclipse Music Festival I was looking at the sky impatiently imagining all the fun that I will have! I look around and a see a bunch of building material (wood, metal tubes, nails.. how convenient), and I decided to make something to show off at the festival (by show off I mean, trip out all of the heavily intoxicated bypassers, while casually inviting them for a coffee at my tent).
Don't ask me why, but somehow I saw a vision of a tall magestic windmill with a glowing propeller. After further analysis of this glorious idea I remembered that I have a bunch of L.E.D. lights along with a tiny motor (from a remote controlled boat, or a plane.. can't recall) and thus the glowing wings of the windmill can become reality.
I won't get into too much detail, but here are a couple of picture of how the "construction" began.

The next step will be most interesting to see, for the windmill will rotate and will glow ... simultaneously.
More pictures (of the complete product as well as from the festival) are coming in the next post.
